Mika seemed to come from no-where with 'Grace Kelly,' a near perfect pop song, and, being blessed with the kind of voice that can raise the roof and shake the foundations the man seems born to perform.
Coming from Lebanese/US parentage, he lived in Paris and London, before being trained by an opera singer. He wrote his first tune after listening to Nirvana, and was finally employed writing for British Airways and Orbit chewing gum ... in short: he's a wonderful, new world, pop mess that shouldn't work but does.
No surprises that the main comparisons he gets are with Freddie Mercury and David Bowie - two names that aren't bandied around lightly in the world of music.
An international act, if ever there was one, and don't we love him...
